Journal du Luxe

The luxury house has just unveiled the name of its new muse: Sonam Kapoor, an Indian actress who has more than 35 million followers on Instagram. It will represent the women's collections created by Maria Grazia Chiuri.

After Rosalia and Deva Cassel, the house of Dior has called on Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor to represent the brand. "A multi-talented personality, the actress, producer and fashion icon now embodies the boldness, grace and elegance of Dior style, a femininity that is constantly reinvented. More than ever, this unique partnership celebrates the powerful cultural ties that have united Dior and India since the origins of the house," the brand announced in a statement.

Indian star Sonam Kapoor was revealed in 2013 by the hit films Raanjhanaa and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Since then, she has been working on advertising contracts with major brands, such as Kérastase, L'Oréal Paris, IWC Schaffhausen and Chopard. For a few years now, the fashion world has been interested in her. In 2017, she was the first Indian woman to close a Ralph & Russo Haute Couture show, during which she was discovered as a hypnotic bride.
